Celebrating the Feast of Trumpets

This week on September 18, we will celebrate the Feast of Trumpets

The Hebrew Feast of Trumpets occurs on the first day of the seventh month of the religious year. It is also the first day of the Hebrew secular year and is also known as Rosh Hashanah, meaning “The Head of the Year”. For the Christians, the Feast of Trumpets is one of the Seven Feasts of Israel, with the three Spring Feasts showing Christ’s coming, the Feast of Pentecost showing the coming of the Church, and the three Fall Feasts showing Christ’s Second Coming. The Feast of Trumpets is a prophetic representation of the trumpet call of God and the Second Coming of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:52 and 1 Thessalonians 4:16).

Like the Hebrew Feasts, the way in the Heavens declaring the glory of God (Psalm 19:1-4), which we call the Star Bible, moves from the advent of Christ through the Church age to the Second Coming of Christ. The portion of the Star Bible corresponding to the Feast of Trumpets is the constellation Taurus (The Bull) which pictures a bull, the ancient symbol of power. In Hebrew the constellation name means “Coming”, and in Egyptian it meant “Who saves”. The bright star Aldeberan, meaning the Governor, adds to this picture of Christ the savior coming in power to rule. Taurus is the sign of the Second Coming of Christ which will move into Summer, the Season of the Second Coming, in 2121 A.D. As the Moon moves toward its rendezvous with the Sun on the Feast of Trumpets, its will be passing through another constellation which is a sign of the Second Coming, Leo (The Lion). Leo represents the triumph of Christ, the lion of Judah (Revelation 5:5) over Satan, who is shown as a cut up snake in the associated constellation Hydra (The Serpent). Leo will move into the Fall season at the same time as Taurus moves into the Summer season, in the year 2121. The association of Leo with the Second Coming is also shown by the star named Denebola. (The Lord Who Comes), which will be the first bright star of Leo to enter the Fall season.

Both Taurus and Leo are morning constellations. Taurus will be directly to the South at about 5:00am while Leo will rise in the East just before sunrise. The New Moon of the Feast of Trumpets will be in Leo on September 18. Adding to the picture will be Venus, representing Jesus as the bright Morning Star (Revelation 22:16), whose Second Coming is prophesied by Taurus and Leo.

Nobody knows the day or the hour of His return, and the timing of the signs in the Heavens can be moved by even a slight change in the Earth’s wobble. Even so, if you are up before dawn, celebrate the Feast of Trumpets with the Stars which proclaim the Second Coming of Christ.

And tell someone to be ready because He is coming back.
